In 2010, our CEO Peter founded Hostwinds.
Coming from a background in development, Peter was consistently finding messy experiences with hosting companies.
Hosting Providers had no idea what they were doing. Support techs were forced to move through a factory-style system, going through prepared lists of questions that could possibly provide answers while not solving the problem.

Since the beginning of Hostwinds, we have involved ourselves in owning all of our products. We needed to control our assets so that we could remain aggressive in such a competitive market. Our customers are our primary focus, and owning ourselves entirely allows us to pass our savings on to them.
Our hardware is directly owned and sold by us. We take great pride in not owing anyone for additional fees and marked-up prices. Hosting shouldn't be expensive, and it is our ambition to keep this promise.
Hostwinds is committed to providing the best hosting services available, and that is why we represent ourselves. Many hosting companies rely on third-party vendors to manage their hardware and applications for them. Third-party vendors can create delays and unnecessary downtime for their customers. At Hostwinds, our customers communicate with our professionals directly, eliminating stress and quickly getting your hosting back on track.
Redundancy
Hostwinds methodically designs our infrastructure so that it is fully redundant. We understand how important it is for our customers never to experience downtime. That is why we have a 99.9999% uptime guarantee.
Our servers are contained and run within highly secure data centers. We deliver 2N to all of our hosting products, which means our customers will never have to worry about losing power. Hostwinds provide power by two independent power sources that additionally have backup generators.
Hostwinds involve themselves with multiple T1 network carriers across numerous different paths. Our customers can get a good night's sleep knowing our infrastructure will always have networking available for their internet traffic demands.
